MISSION

Mission of Mulawarman University

• To produce high-quality human resources with strong character and professionalism through internationally recognized higher education.
• To generate high-quality and useful research while prioritizing environmental sustainability principles.
• To conduct community service activities and produce meaningful and beneficial works in science, technology, arts, and sports, while ensuring accountable and independent university governance in line with national and international standards.

Mission of the Faculty of Engineering

• To deliver high-quality education that produces graduates with strong academic competence in engineering and good moral character.
• To conduct research that explores and develops the potential of natural resources, especially tropical rainforests and their environment.
• To develop and disseminate science and technology and carry out community service activities in engineering to improve the quality of life of society, the nation, and humanity.
• To enhance the quality of research and community service through collaboration with other institutions.

OBJECTIVES

• To produce graduates who are highly qualified, independent, professional, skilled, disciplined, and active in the field of engineering.
   
• To prepare graduates who can enter the workforce across government and private institutions, and to develop entrepreneurs who are able to create their own businesses and generate employment opportunities to support the growth of small industries and entrepreneurship.
   
• To support the development of national industries based on natural resources and reduce dependence on other countries in science and technology.
   
• To diversify educational programs and expand learning opportunities for high school and undergraduate graduates in East Kalimantan Province.
   
• To support the implementation of national higher education policies in advancing science and technology for environmentally sustainable development.
   
• To strengthen competitiveness by fostering creativity and innovation in the use of science and technology.
   
• To develop and disseminate science and technology and provide services to the community.
   
• To support policies related to the Independent Learning Independent Campus program.
   
• To improve the quality of education and research in supporting Mulawarman University as the nearest public university to the new national capital.
   
• To develop the Faculty of Engineering by establishing departments that accommodate undergraduate and master’s programs by 2024.
